Feb6

There are some times when companies that strengthen their ties with the parent company are seen to benefit immensely and are able to tide over difficult times too. One such company is Eddie Bauer whose Groveport distribution center plans to add jobs to the extent of 300 people much to the delight and career benefit of people. This chain had file for bankruptcy last year. It had then been taken over by Golden Gate Capital, which is a California based private equity form. There are plans now to expand staffing and also operations where the company wants to add jobs to the extent of 300 jobs. The company operates in a 2 million square foot facility which is located south of Columbus.

This growth is being driven by the closing and the consolidation of a 200 member distribution facility that is located in Beverly, Mass. which is run by Appleseed’s. Appleseed’s is a sister firm of Eddie Bauer and it was bought by Golden Gate Capital in the year 2005. The company has since become a holding company for catalog retailers. The plan is that the Beverly facility of Appleseed’s will be closed down to add jobs to the extent of 300 at Groveport, as part of the consolidation measures.
