Amidst dispute with ALL Fuels and Energy, Iowa, Valero Renewable Fuels Co. LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Valero Energy Corp. announced on Thursday, the purchase of an ethanol plant from Renew Energy. The plant has an annual production capacity of 110 million gallons.
This makes Valero Renewables one of the largest ethanol producers with a combined production capacity of 1.1 billion gallons per year.
Earlier in December 2009, the company had won a bid by paying $72 million in a bankruptcy court auction. ALL Fuels claims that its offer of $100 million during the purchase bid was ignored. Its attorney said that they were considering all options including a lawsuit.
